Lame Ivoire (39)
Chanel Lame Ivoire (39) Ombre Premiere Laque ($36.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a darker, champagne gold with warm, golden tones but not to the point of leaning orange/peach. It had a smooth, fluid consistency that was slightly watery initially, but then it dried down to a more transfer-resistant finish.
I liked applying this best with a fingertip or a fluffy brush for a sheerer wash of color. For higher opacity, I’d recommend building up coverage, as while it seemed more pigmented in a single “swipe” from the applicator, the reality was the formula readily sheered out (as designed) and building up gave a more even result that didn’t feel overly wet/take too long to dry down. Once the formula set, it lasted well for nine hours.

Formula Overview
$36.00/0.2 oz. – $180.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have “lustrous, buildable colour” that can be “smudged out easily with fingertips” or with the “included applicator.” I’d argue that most shades were semi-opaque to opaque in a single layer, and the liquid format made them easy enough to sheer out for more of that “veil” of shimmer that was described. I found them usable as standalone eyeshadows as well as for layering on top of other products or as a wash of shimmer.
The consistency was lightweight, more watery initially, but it set to a transfer-resistant finish within 10 to 20 seconds. The shimmer within the formula seemed finer, so while it had a sheen and sparkle, it sat more smoothly on my skin and was easier to diffuse and spread out for an even result. They lasted for over 10 hours without fading, flaking, or creasing on me, but if you do more moderate blending with a brush after they’ve dried down, you risk potential flaking (not uncommon once something is fully set but always worth noting).

Lame Acier (37)
Chanel Lame Acier (37) Ombre Premiere Laque ($36.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a deep, grayish-pewter with subtle, warm undertones and cooler pearl throughout. When applied and sheered out, the warmth was more apparent, while when it was worn at higher coverage, it looked more silvery-taupe than pewter.
It had opaque color coverage in a single layer with the included applicator, though I felt like in practice, it was more light-medium, buildable coverage, which was in line with the marketing, because of how thin and more watery the texture was. Similarly, the product applied better layered up, as using the included applicator to get that higher opacity resulted in a thicker layer that took a little long to dry down and wasn’t as easy to blend out (it was almost too much product that was too wet initially). Once the formula dried down, it was transfer-resistant and stayed in place well for nine and a half hours.

Lame Pourpre (35)
Chanel Lame Pourpre (35) Ombre Premiere Laque ($36.00 for 0.2 oz.) is a medium-dark red with strong, warm orange-copper undertones and a smooth, metallic sheen from finer, lighter red pearl throughout. The more fluid, watery formula tended to get pushed around with a flatter/firmer brush, whereas a fluffy brush or fingertip either absorbed or helped the product dry down a little faster, which made it easier to work with.
The coverage seemed more pigmented initially, but once I started to apply it, the formula sheered out more than it built up, so it was actually buildable as marketed–you had to apply a layer, diffuse, and then let it set before adding another layer to actually achieve higher coverage. It stayed on well for nine and a half hours before creasing on me.
