Sydney Grace Mountain Trail 9-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($33.00 for 0.54 oz.) was originally released as a bundle of single pan eyeshadows, and it’s back in palette-form! I found that eight of the nine shades were as good or slightly improved, while one shade (Escape) seemed to have more shimmer and less of an intense, deeper base color (though performance-wise, it was still decent). This has always been one of my favorite bundles from Sydney Grace, so I’m so glad to see it back.

Escape has more of a medium-dark, almost sage green base, with lighter, contrasting greenish-gold shimmer throughout. The version in the palette seemed lighter and more shimmer-heavy with less of an intense, deep green base, which did have the effect of also making it seem a bit sheerer.

Trailhead
Trailhead is a deep forest green that was slightly desaturated and had a matte finish. It was smoother and easier to use than the original version, which had been on the stiffer side.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren’t opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn’t so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I’ve found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.
