The holiday season is behind us, and we are off to the new year. Here’s hoping your holiday season was a profitable one. As a wholesale provider of bulk sunglasses, we know that not every retailer met sales expectations. If you are one of them, we encourage you to stay the course. People will always need sunglasses. It is just a matter of reaching them with your message.

Wholesale sunglasses have proven themselves to be a great business opportunity for us. We do very well as wholesalers because retailers want and need the products we sell. Likewise, retailers purchase from us so that they have products to sell to their customers.

We get it; this all sounds pretty basic. But if your business isn’t doing well, it’s easy to lose sight of why we do what we do in our industry. So let’s turn the focus back to your customers. They are out there. What’s more, a lot of them are going to buy new sunglasses in the coming year.

Things Happen, You Benefit

Globally, an estimated 4 billion pairs of sunglasses are purchased every year. That is a lot of shades. The question is, why so many? The answer is simple: things happen.

Take the case of a Florida couple that got engaged just before Christmas. The groom-to-be meticulously planned his proposal well in advance. He had arranged for the future bride’s closest friends and family members to be on hand. He arranged for a string quartet to show up, ready to play some favorite songs.

When the big moment came, the bride-to-be began “ugly crying” as she put it. She pulled off her boyfriend’s sunglasses and tossed them aside so she wouldn’t see her own reflection. The sunglasses were saved, but they might not have been had the woman not done what she did. Why? Because her boyfriend had planned to take off his sunglasses and toss them into the water. He said he had planned on never seeing them again.

Had he fulfilled his plan, he would have been in the market for a new pair of sunglasses. This is the type of thing that can happen. People lose their sunglasses, drop and break them, inadvertently leave them behind at restaurants, and on and on. Anglers lose their sunglasses in the water while athletes scratch lenses and break frames.

Customers Waiting to Be Found

Perhaps you did not reach your sales objectives during the most recent holiday season. It is probably not due to the products themselves. There are customers out there, and they are waiting to be found. Your lackluster sales are probably due to not reaching them effectively.

This is not meant as a condemnation or accusation. The fact is that we have all been there. Every business, regardless of size or scope, struggles to reach customers from time to time. It is part of doing business. We occasionally have trouble reaching customers with the right messaging about bulk sunglasses for men and women. So when sales lag, we need to figure out what we are missing and then adapt accordingly.
