Big Apple
ColourPop Big Apple Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a bright, coral-red with warm undertones and a glossy finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation, as marketed, that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips. The texture was lightweight, spreadable, and not so watery that it was too thin or prone to streaking.
This shade stained my lips a warm red underneath, which was apparent after four and a half hours of wear. The stain lingered for another couple of hours and felt non-drying over time.

Formula Overview

It’s supposed to have the “long-lasting powers of a lip stain” with the “shine of a gloss” paired with “medium to buildable coverage” that is “non-drying.” The initial texture was almost watery, overly spreadable (and the applicator often picked up more product than necessary, so take care during application) but dried down to a more satiny shine that was less glossy and more like a satin lipstick with some translucency.
The initial shine wore off within two hours, so it looked like a true satin finish–this was true of doing nothing or just taking a drink of a glass as it wasn’t transfer-resistant. The stain did not power through a meal and tended to leave a very strong ring around the edges of my lips as it wore away so quickly while eating. Left to its own devices, most shades wore around six hours with a faint stain left behind.
It had medium, buildable coverage but quickly built to more semi-opaque coverage without an official second layer (just going back and forth to get an even layer of product). A couple of shades were truer to medium and others were more semi-opaque from the first layer.
There didn’t seem to be any added fragrance nor taste while worn.

Berry Ripe
ColourPop Berry Ripe Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark berry with cool undertones and a soft, glossy sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color payoff that applied evenly and smoothly across my lips. This was one of the more impressive shades in the range as it actually made my lips appear smoother and more voluminous.
The consistency was lightweight, spreadable, and easy to work with, though the applicator tends to pick up excessive product. It lasted well for six hours and left a strong stain behind, which lingered somewhat through a meal.

Tutti Fruity
ColourPop Tutti Fruity Glossy Lip Stain ($8.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a brighter, reddened-burgundy with cool undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had medium color coverage, which was somewhat buildable, but the product had a tendency to settle into my lip lines and darken there, so it was hard to apply this shade evenly.
The consistency was thinner and more watery compared to other shades, too. It wore well for six hours, left a moderate stain behind, but the stain didn’t last too well through a meal. The formula was non-drying over time.
I had the best luck applying a really thin, sheerer layer, then blotting it down and wearing it like that, as this prevented most of the darkening in my lip lines.
