Wine and Only
ColourPop Wine and Only 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.36 oz.) is the newest release–and I think one of the last of the year–that includes a mix of shimmers and matte shades in a wine-inspired color story. The mattes were nicer than the shimmers, on the whole, though Grapeful has a ton of sparkle and not much that keeps it bound with the base, so that one had a lot of fallout. The shimmers were decent but did not perform as well as some past shimmers have from the brand.
For those keeping count, there are a few Pressed Pigments, which come with the warning that they are not intended for use around the immediate eye area under FDA regulations, though these types of pigments are approved for usage on the eye in areas like the EU.

Blanc
Blanc is a very light copper with moderate, warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a little more or if applied with a fingertip to begin with. The texture was soft, slightly drier but blendable with minimal fallout. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. – $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Sip Sip
Sip Sip is a medium plum with strong, warm undertones paired with a lightly-sparkled matte finish. The texture was moderately powdery, though blendable, but it took its more semi-opaque coverage and sheered it out too quickly to medium coverage, so I’d recommend pairing it with a primer or where opacity isn’t necessary. It stayed on well for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

Major Chianti
Major Chianti is a muted, medium-dark reddish-berry with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was slightly firmer, stiffer in the pan, which made it easier to build up coverage if desired and kept it from having fallout, but it could have been more blendable. It had opaque pigmentation that lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing.” The way the Pressed Pigments differ is that they’re not intended for usage on the immediate eye area.
The majority of the shades are semi-opaque to opaque in coverage, blend out fairly well, and can sometimes be a bit drier/more powdery compared to typical matte shades. They often wear eight to nine hours on me before fading, but many shades in the Pressed Pigment family leave some staining behind.

Cast a Chateau
Cast a Chateau is a medium-dark, reddish-copper with warmer, more orange undertones in its base and cooler, pink-red pearl that gave it a subtle, metallic sheen. It had opaque color coverage in a single pass, which adhered well to bare skin and blended out without difficulty. The texture was lightly emollient but not prone to sliding around. Play to Wine
Play to Wine is a medium-dark red with warmer undertones in its base and a mix of warmer red and copper sparkle throughout its more metallic finish. The consistency was thicker, denser, and creamier, so it applied better with a fingertip or a flat, synthetic brush and patted/pressed onto the lid as sweeping tended to result in fallout and slight unevenness in the initial laydown of product. It had opaque color coverage that stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Vinter is a deep burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was balanced between being soft and blendable and firm enough not to be prone to fallout. Grapeful
Grapeful is a medium-dark burgundy with strong, warm undertones and flecks of larger gold sparkle over a matte finish. The texture was moderately powdery, which made it prone to fallout to begin with, while the larger sparkles weren’t incorporated well with the base, so those also resulted in a lot of flyaway product and some additional fallout. It had opaque pigmentation that blended out well enough–so long as random sparkles in one’s look isn’t a deal-breaker–that lasted for eight hours before fading visibly.
