The 2024 Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 4th. Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Phoebe Bridgers, SZA, Killer Mike, and Victoria Monét were among the night’s big winners.

Swift became the first artist to win Album of the Year four times, as Midnights claimed this year’s top prize. Midnights also won Best Pop Vocal Album, which Swift celebrated by announcing her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Miley Cyrus earned her first-ever Grammy Award when “Flowers” captured Best Solo Pop Performance. She promptly followed that up by winning a second Grammy thanks to “Flowers” taking Record of the Year.

Billie Eilish’s contribution to the Barbie soundtrack, “What Was I Made For?”, took home Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media. Next up? A possible Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Victoria Monét won three Grammys, including Best New Artist. Her album Jaguar II earned Best R&B Album and Best Engineered Album.

Phoebe Bridgers’ four Grammy victories proved to be the most of the night. boygenius’ debut full-length, the record, won Alternative Album of the Year, while their song “Not Strong Enough” captured Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance. Additionally, Bridgers’ collaboration with SZA, “Ghost in the Machine,” won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Killer Mike swept the rap category. His latest solo LP, Michael, won Best Rap Album, while his collaboration with André 3000, Future, and Eryn Allen Kane, “Scientists & Engineers,” won both Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.

Jason Isbell took home two Grammys, including Best Americana Album for Weathervanes, and Best American Roots Song for “Cast Iron Skillet.” Read our cover story on Isbell, which details the making of Weathervanes.

Meanwhile, Paramore’s This Is Why claimed Best Rock Album and its title track won Best Alternative Music Performance.

Other 2024 Grammy winners included Joni Mitchell, who won Best Folk Album for Joni Mitchell at Newport; Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves, who were awarded Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “I Remember Everything”; and Metallica’s “72 Seasons” was crowned Best Metal Performance. And for the third year running, Jack Antonoff won Producer of the Year.
