Our series Track by Track has artists guide readers through each song on their newest release. Today, Charly Bliss break down their new album, Forever.

Most of Charly Bliss catalog could be described as “fun,” but it became the power-pop group’s mission statement for their new album, Forever. Uplifted by overarching themes of both romantic and platonic love, Forever offers 12 indie bops that are as danceable as they are genuine.

The record is energized, bouncy, and catchy as hell, often backed by a pulsing synth line, spunky drums, and shimmering production. Its sonic palette is light and breezy, not unlike the feeling of settling into a newfound love. In fact, the exciting security of a new relationship can be felt throughout Forever’s reflective lyrics.

“I was so lovesick for most of this record,” vocalist/guitarist Eva Hendricks tells Consequence. “I had such a big crush and everything felt new and mysterious and sexy and I was so game to throw myself in headfirst. Wanting someone is so intoxicating and I could not shut up about it.”

When listening, such intoxication is contagious. Be it the nuanced nostalgia of “Back There Now” or the building anthem “Nineteen,” Forever damn near forces your face into a smile. Stream the full album below, and read on for Hendricks’ Track by Track breakdown.
