Dream Theater have released their highly anticipated new album Parasomnia, the first to feature drummer Mike Portnoy in 16 years. Stream the full album below.
The LP also arrives as Dream Theater embark on the North American leg of their 40th anniversary tour. The trek kicks off Friday night (February 7th) in Philadelphia and runs through March 22nd in New York City. You can get tickets here.

With the return of Portnoy behind the kit, Parasomnia has easily been the most hyped Dream Theater album in years. The veteran drummer’s unrivaled abilities have seemingly unlocked something in his bandmates, as the songs showcase a heavier and more daring version of Dream Theater.

In total, three singles were released leading up the album’s release: “Night Terror,” “A Broken Man,” and “Midnight Messiah,” with the latter featuring Portnoy’s first lyrical contributions since his original stint in the band. We included each of those tracks in our recurring Heavy Song of the Week column, with the lead single “Night Terror” notching the top spot on the rundown this past October.
