Actress Evangeline Lilly will be out of the spotlight for the foreseeable future, she revealed in a new video posted to Instagram. Watch it and read Lilly’s full statement below.
“Stepping away from what seems like the obvious choice (wealth and fame) can feel scary at times, but stepping into your dharma replaces the fear with fulfillment,” Lilly wrote in the caption. The video shows footage from her time on the television show Lost, which catapulted her to fame in the role of Kate. “Ideally, 10 years from now, I’d like to be a retired actress,” she tells the camera.
For fans of Lilly’s work — or anyone hopeful to see her continue in the role of The Wasp in Marvel’s Ant-Man series — the decision may not be permanent. “I might return to Hollywood one day, but, for now, this is where I belong,” she continued in the caption.

Lilly made headlines in recent years for her controversial reactions to mandates around COVID-19, some of which she walked back.
In the meantime, Netflix recently announced that all six seasons of Lost will be landing on the streamer on July 1st, allowing a new generation of people to experience the show that put Lilly on the map.
