Grimes has once again used social media to make a plea to her former partner Elon Musk. In a post shared on Twitter (now known as X, after Musk’s acquisition and rebranding in 2023), the electronic artist stated that she has practically begged the tech tycoon to stop exposing their three young children (who are 4, 3, and 2-years-old) to the public eye.

After a supposedly Grimes tweet regarding the sexual inclinations of Fortune 500 executives went around the app, the artist denied that she has ever posted this, stating it is a doctored image. A user replied to Grimes, asking “how to [sic] protect your children from this? Can’t you wipe this garbage from the internet?” Grimes gave a stark response, insinuating that she has no support to protect her three children.

“I unfortunately do not control the internet… I have tried begging the public and my kid’s dad to keep them offline, and I”ve tried legal recourse,” Grimes said. “The state of my children’s lives being public is of grave concern to me… It’s insane to me that there’s no way to deal with this.”

“I would hope there was some law that would allow a parent to veto small children from living public lives but I don’t even trust the law to help me now if I tried to invoke it tbh. We are in the Wild West of information content and the dismantling of privacy and it’s very concerning.”

This statement from Grimes comes approximately a month after Musk brought their four-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, to the White House while Trump signed an executive order to increase the capabilities of the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (or DOGE). Musk has also brought their children to other public events involving political leaders and work appearances, including to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and more.

This isn’t the first time that Grimes has used Twitter to attempt to get a hold of Musk. In February, she begged for Musk to provide support to an urgent “medical crisis” involving one of their children. “I’m not giving any details but he won’t respond to texts calls or emails and has skipped every meeting,” Grimes tweeted. “Our child will suffer life long impairment if he doesn’t respond asap… if I have to apply public pressure then I guess that’s where we are at.”

Meanwhile, in an interview with TIME, Grimes said, “I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere.”
