Set in the near future, Jackpot! follows a new California lottery that has one strange rule: if you’re able to kill the winner, you legally claim their prize. In this interview, Feig explores the comedy and tension inherent to such a concept before telling stories from production — including how he convinced Cena to sing “Turtle Power,” a deep cut from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack.
Feig then chats about finding his lane in action comedy, how far they were able to take the premise without crossing any lines, and the many talents of cameo star Machine Gun Kelly. The director also reveals some information about his upcoming sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favor starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively.
