First time at the Bellagio Conservatory Botanical Gardens? Here’s what you need to know.
The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is one of the iconic Vegas things to do on the Strip. We visit at least once each time they change their decor, and then again when we have visitors (and we get them a LOT. For some reason, people love Vegas more than NY, CA, and OR combined).
Since we’ve been taking so many photos and videos of their seasonal displays, we decided to share them all in one place along with our best local tips.

About the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
The Bellagio Conservatory transforms the 14,000-square-foot space into a new imaginary world each season. I’m always impressed by how they keep all these plants alive and beautiful when I struggle with the few I have.
Bellagio has 120 gardeners alone and then you add in the designers, engineers, and electricians, and you have a massive team.
How often does Bellagio Conservatory change?
The Horticulture and Engineering teams work on these massive displays five times a year. They also replant and repurpose the living plant materials as much as possible.

Spring: March 12 to May 14, 2022
Summer: May 21 to September 10, 2022

Where is the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens?
The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is easy to find. The lobby and front desk will be to your left as you go through the main entrance. You’ll pass under the Chihuly glass art sculpture on the ceiling and keep going straight. There will be an opening in front of you marked by a vast 50-foot glass ceiling. That entire area is the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens.

What is the current display at the Bellagio Conservatory Botanical Gardens?
Lunar New Year Installation
January 8 to March 5, 2022
The 2022 Lunar New Year Installation is called ‘Eye of the Tiger.’ It blends the legends and myths of Asian culture and Western ideology and includes lotus flowers, gold coines, silk lanterns, and a massive Tiger. Bellagio’s horticulture team designed it in collaboration with designer Ed Libby.
By the numbers:
- 8,000 flowers for the peddler and children
- 8,000 pounds is the weight of the bronze tiger
- 5,700 plants throughout the exhibit
- 370 golden coins on the money tree
- 100 bonsai trees
- 40 Koi fish
- 30 feet is the height of the tiger’s tail
- 3 tigers on display

Winter / Holiday Installation
The 2021 winter display is called ‘Holiday Time.’ It features a 42 foot tall Christmas tree from Mount Shasta, California, giant snowflakes, arctic animals, clocks, and more.
By the numbers:
- 13,250 White carnations
- 8,700 Ornaments
- 7,500 Poinsettias
- 7,000 white LED lights
- 2,000 Senecio plants
- 300 shrubs
- 25 silvertip fir trees
- 1 main 42 ft fir tree

Fall / Harvest Installation
The 2021 Fall / Harvest display is called ‘Deeper Into the Woods.‘
By the numbers:
- 59,950 fresh-cut carnations for the mushrooms
- 8,730 pounds is the total weight of pumpkins
- 2,000 Chester Fern plants
- 1,998 ivy plants
- 44 types of flowers, shrubs, and trees in the display
- 40 illuminated acorns
- 18 floral mushrooms (largest one is 7 feet in diameter)
- 6 friendly foxes
- 5 lively hedgehogs
- 4 playful grizzly bears
- 3 enchanted fairies
Summer Installation
The 2021 Summer display is called ‘Eco: A Season of Earthly Awareness.’
By the numbers:
- 27,504 flowers and plants on display
- 1,569 plants from local nurseries
- 845 succulents on display
- 162 Tillandsia air plants
- 39 hanging lanterns in the treehouse
- 30 feet is the height of the treehouse
- 22 feet is the height of Gaia
- 5 tree frogs

Spring Installation
The 2021 Spring installation is called ‘Springtime Celebrations Around the World.’
By the numbers:
- 30,000 flowers and plants
- 9,000 gallons of recirculated water used in the display
- 2,000 Dusty Miller plants
- 100+ live butterflies in the greenhouse
- 75 team members involved in the assembly
- 12 cherry blossom trees
- 11 hanging butterfly sculptures
- 4 hours of music specially curated for the exhibit

This was the very first time I stepped foot inside Bellagio Conservatory Botanical Gardens. I had only brought my long portrait lens, so close-up shots it is!
Tips for First Time Visitors
- The gardens can get quite crowded. The best time to visit is early mornings when most people are still asleep
- Some installations look completetly different during the day (natural light) and night (all lit up).
- The exhibits are big. A wide lens is needed to capture the scale of everything.
- The Giardini Garden Store just around the corner sells unique garden-themed gifts.
