We sat in silence mesmerized by the chandeliers, floating fish, and Leonard Cohen music that felt written for the moment. Although I was being transported into another world, I thought to myself how I haven’t felt more present in a long while.

The Lost Spirits Distillery tour has been called adult Disneyland or Willy Wonka Factory for booze. It’s unlike any other distillery tour we’ve been on, and can’t wait to see what they come up with in their next phase.

About Lost Spirits Distillery Las Vegas

Bryan Davis and Joanne Haruta founded Lost Spirits Distillery in 2010, and from the get-go, they mixed art, science, and innovation.

Over the years, they dabbled with different concoctions and multiple distillery locations, including a Japanese-style tea garden in Monterey County.

In 2015, Bryan received global attention when he invented a new way of aging spirits that they still use today. Using his new distilling method (the Davis method), he was able to replicate the chemical signature and taste of spirits aged for 20 years in a barrel in less than a week. Having a background in chemistry, I was so impressed that he was self-taught.

We had the pleasure of meeting Bryan and Joanne during our tour, and after spending only a couple of hours with them, it’s clear how passionate they are about what they do. They have their hands involved in every aspect of developing their spirits, the design, and the tour experience.

Local Tip: As they continue to expand the Las Vegas location, you will regularly see them around. Bryan is always more than happy to chat and will point out details you might miss on the tour.

The Lost Spirits Distillery Tour is located at AREA15, which couldn’t be a more fitting location in Las Vegas. With incredible but hard to describe immersive experiences like Wink World and Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, this distillery is right at home.

When they create their spirits, they aim to transport you to a specific place in their imagination. During the distillery tour, they create these imaginative places so that you can see them yourself.

Lost Spirit Distillery Tour Tickets

Tickets for the distillery tour cost between $60-80 depending on the day and time. It lasts over 2 hours and includes 4 drinks. Currently, they only run Friday to Sunday with extended days on holiday weekends.

Right now, they will be rotating through what they have available but should always have their signature rum, the Navy Style Rum.

How to Get to Lost Spirits Distillery

Lost Spirits is located inside AREA 15, where there is plenty of parking and a dedicated ride-share station. When you enter, turn right at the skull. and you will see the check-in station.

Our Experience at the Lost Spirits Distillery Las Vegas

Spoiler Alert: We think it’s more fun to go without knowing what to expect behind each door or area. If you want to leave a little mystery, you should skip the rest of this post until after. If you’re the type that hates surprises and likes everything planned out, read on.

You go through the tour at your own pace and have a passport that you get stamped at each drink station. During our visit, Bryan walked us through the entire facility to give us more insight.

After checking in, the tour started in a room where we got our first pour and an introduction to Lost Spirits. There was a fun interaction with the chandelier, and then we took a journey through a magical forest to a Havana-themed room. We sat down to enjoy our first drink while the stage was filled with holographic performers and a holo-Bryan.

Next, we stepped outside and hopped on one of their carts at the entrance of AREA15. Then they pedaled us to another building on-site, where the remainder of the tour was.

There, we received 3 more pours and saw the distilling process, including Bryan’s patented method. Lastly, there are two additional rooms where you can lounge. We don’t want to give everything away, since part of the magic is in the mystery. However, we will say our favorite room is their 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea room with the swaying chandeliers.

You can see the room in the photo below (we went back when it was closed to grab a few shots while it was empty).

Local Tip: Take a close look at all the floating fish. Each have their own stories.

Future Plans

This is just the first phase of their Las Vegas distillery, and they’re even making updates to what is currently accessible. Their artists and engineering staff are always looking to update the experience. If you visit again, there will be elements that are new to you. They also do the same by rotating their spirits.

For example, while we were there, they were experimenting with a new blueberry spirit. We didn’t get to try it, but if it’s successful, maybe you will try it on your tour.

One of the projects we’re excited about is a 12-course pre-fixe tasting menu at 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Chef Taylor Persh, which will start in October. Dinner will be $240 and is all-inclusive.

Beyond that, there is a phase 2 and 3 that we don’t know much about yet, but we will update you as soon as we hear more!
