Unusually high waves have been wreaking havoc on Peru’s northern and central coasts.
Video from Friday shows massive waves rolling over sailboats, swallowing jet skis and crashing into the coast as onlookers scramble away from the rushing water.
The waves are expected to continue for another week, according to the Peruvian navy.
The sea surfs have prompted authorities in the South American country to close 80 ports and several beaches.
Even though they hit coastal fishing communities hard, no deaths due to the unusually high swells have been reported.
Videos show wreckage on the beaches and flooding on nearby streets.
